What is a birth card?
Your birth card (sometimes called a life card or soul card) is one or two cards from the Major Arcana derived from your date of birth. This is not fate — it is a lens for reflecting on tendencies, strengths, and lessons you may be exploring throughout your life.
The method comes from traditional numerology digit-summing. You add every digit of your birth date (DDMMYYYY) and reduce the total to a number between 1 and 22, then continue reducing to a single digit. The first number (≤ 22) gives the Personality Card — suggesting how you tend to show up in the world. The final single digit gives the Soul Card — pointing to a deeper inner motivation.
When both numbers are the same, you have a single card that carries both layers of energy.
